This Policy applies to our collection and use of your data in connection with our services, like the FundraizingHero website and fundraising pack software (the "Services").

  3. What is our relationship with charities?
    FundraizingHero facilitates a direct relationship between Charities and Supporters. A supporter is anyone using FundraizingHero to register their activity or send a message to a charity. The supporters chosen charity receives the information such as a contact email address, name and activity information entered on our online forms by the supporter. Charities are then responsible for their own lawful processing of this information made available to them by FundraizingHero.
  4. What data do we collect?
    We don't receive any personal data about you other than what you provide us in our online forms.

    Data collected in our forms:

    When you create a fundraising pack: To enable us to create your fundraising pack and for the fundraising team at your chosen charity to support you in your fundraising efforts we ask for information about your activity, plus your name and contact information. We use your email address to send you a link to download your fundraising pack.

    When you register for a certificate: To enable us to create your thank you pack and for the charity to create your certificate, we ask for information about your activity, your name, the amount you raised and your email address so you can receive your pack and certificate.

    When you message the charity: Your message, subject line and email address will be collected and forwarded on to the charity.

    Other data we collect:

    Information about your computer (e.g your IP address, operating system, browser, etc.) for system administration and application development.

    Cookies, to distinguish you from other users of the service. This helps us to provide you with a personalised experience and also allows us to improve our service. Further information can be found in our Cookie Policy

  5. How we use the data collected?
    When you register for a pack or certificate we use the data entered to personalise the materials in your fundraising pack and email the pack ID to the email address you provided. Your information entered is also shared with your chosen charity so they know that your fundraising on their behalf and can process your certificate or provide support. Your chosen charity are the data controller of this information.

    We use aggregated and personal data to help improve our service, drive our research and development and to better understand our users and charity partners. FundraizingHero does this using a variety of data sources—transactional data (how you use the Services), click stream and log data (web traffic and Services usage), survey data, customer service data.
  6. How do charities use my data?
    As stated above, when you create a fundraising pack using FundraizingHero we share your data with your chosen charity. This charity then becomes the data controller with respect to such personal data. This means that they’re responsible for their own compliance with data protection laws when they use your personal data, and all such use is subject to the charity’s own privacy notice. FundraizingHero is not responsible for charities’ use of your personal data or the charities’ compliance with applicable laws.

    When you create a fundraising pack, FundraizingHero will ask whether or not you consent to receiving email or telephone contact from the charity about the impact of your fundraising and other ways to support them including future events, campaigns and appeals. We will pass your consent preference on to the charity.

    If you want to change your preferences for a charity to use your data, please contact the charity directly.

    Please be aware that charities receive information about their supporters from various sources. We can only gather and document your consent to receive email and phone updates from our charity partners based on your selections made on our platform.

    However, please note that we are not the system of record for our charity partners. Therefore, any changes you make directly with the charity regarding your consent preferences, such as opting out of email or telephone communications, will not be reflected in FundraizingHero. For instance, if you initially opt in to receive emails from a charity when creating a fundraising pack through FundraizingHero but subsequently decide to opt out by informing the charity directly, FundraizingHero will not have a record of your decision to opt out from that specific charity's emails.
  7. Where we store your data?
    For the purposes of operating FundraizingHero, we store your data on secure servers in the European Economic Area (EEA).

    Credentials such as passwords are strongly encrypted. FundraizingHero does not store any credit card or bank account details. They are stored by the payment processor system 'Stripe' which themselves are subject to the strictest compliance regulations.
  8. What are your rights?
    You have the right under the GDPR to:

    • Request what information we hold about you.
    • Request how we process your data.
    • Request access to, delete or correct your personal data held by us.
    • Restrict processing.
    • Object to processing of your personal data.
    • Not be subject to automated decision-making including profiling.
    • Complain to a supervisory authority.
